Dragon Boat Festival 2024

Mark your calendars and celebrate the Dragon Boat Festival at Chinatown Singapore from 7-9 June 2024. Organised by Chinatown Business Association in collaboration with programme partners, uncover the cultural significance of the Dragon Boat Festival, learn to make Hainanese Bak Chang, catch Chinese cultural performances and do your part to support beneficiaries of the Association for Persons with Special Needs (APSN).

Key event highlights include:

- “Dragon Boat Festival: Of Thumping Drumbeats and Delicious Dumplings”, a special Dragon Boat Festival exhibition developed in collaboration with Sun Yat-Sen Nanyang Memorial Hall
- Buy and hang a Wish Dumpling Sachet on the Wishing Wall for $5. All proceeds will be donated to APSN, and donors stand to win a 2D1N staycation package by Amara Singapore and Dorsett Singapore
- Stand to win a $30 F&B voucher to dine in Chinatown at the Dragon Boat (Rowing Machine) Race and Guess the Number of Bak Chang in a Gunny Sack Contest
- Hainanese Bak Chang Making Workshop where participants can learn the art of making Hainanese rice dumplings filled with savoury meat, mushrooms, chestnuts and other flavourful ingredients
- A Sip of Heritage with Rice Wines Workshop where you can explore the traditional Chinese medicine benefits of rice wine, savour the different varieties of rice wine, and learn how to make sweet, fermented rice wine with glutinous rice balls
- Fun activities for families and children including lantern riddles, storytelling, dragon boat craft workshop and traditional childhood games such as pitch-pot, hopscotch and five stones
- Enjoy Cantonese Opera, Lion Dance and Gu Zheng performances throughout the weekend!
- Shop at the Smith Street Pop-Up Market

Admission to the Dragon Boat Festival is free. Tickets for selected workshops can be purchased from Peatix.
