Sougwen’s work combines the hand-drawn line with different types of algorithms and computational technologies reflecting an investigation between human and robot collaboration.
In REALM OF SILK, silk is the chrysalis that harbours metamorphosis, and the silkworm acts as a metaphor for transformation.
Sougwen’s works exist at the intersection of visual art, performance and technology; encompassing highly progressive ways of arching a narrative or delving into a concept. Singapore master cellist Leslie Tan comes into collaborative partnership, performing live and opening new dimensions musically in response to Sougwen’s newest creation, premiering at SIFA 2023.
