Course Description
“A room without books is like a body without a soul.” – Cicero

The theme for the seventh edition of Objectifs’ Women in Film and Photography is Bodies. Like bodies, books also often function as repositories of memories, reminders, and experiences. Photo books, in particular, condense space, place, and time to articulate what words alone may not be able to do.

Beginning with the history of bookbinding and a survey of several noteworthy photo books, this intimate workshop will provide participants with the opportunity to make their own books while furthering conversations and extending the meaning-making process sparked by the theme, Bodies.

Participants will learn 2 different techniques to bind a book by the end of this workshop. Participants will also get to take home the end product(s) which they create during the session.
