Two Taiwanese speakeasies take centre stage at ANTI:DOTE on Sunday. Gallery 20.5, a refined cocktail bar hidden behind the facade of a fine art gallery in Kaohsiung, will mix drinks alongside Book ing Bar, a vintage bar hidden in a Taipei bookstore, showcasing the best of Taiwan’s thriving bar culture.
Jeffrey Wang, Co-founder of Gallery 20.5, will shake up tipples such as the special Aperitivo de ANTI:DOTE: a negroni riff made with gin, coffee vermouth, mango, coconut, Bitter Fusetti, and lime leaf. Jeffrey will also showcase cocktails from Gallery 20.5 menu, including Line. In line with ANTI:DOTE’s current Cure-All menu, this cocktail uses fig leaves and a special herb from Penghu - a small island in the Taiwan Strait, to create a tropical herbal note that mimics the benefits and flavours of Chinese medicine.
Meanwhile, Bar Manager Ashin Yang and Head Bartender Walter Lin of Book ing Bar, will flourish luxurious cocktails such as The Devil Wears Prada, combining Mortlach 12 Year Old, black truffle-infused Bulleit rye, Banhez Ensamble mezcal, Aperol, and truffle oil to offer a complexity that evolves as you sip. Perfume is a harmonious medley of flavours and aromas featuring caraway seed-infused vodka, Don Papa rum, mezcal and Don Julio Añejo for a robust spiced spirit base, while De Kuyper Kwai Feh Lychee, Chambord and citric acid contribute a fruity and vibrant dimension.
