Femme X: Baroque Heroines at vOilah!

Ariane, Lucretia and Circe – three mythological women whose stories have been passed from generation to generation in epics, poems, music and paintings. But what about the women themselves? How would they choose to tell their own stories? Femme X: Baroque Heroines features solo baroque cantatas that explore the three heroines whose stories have been featured in other presentations in The Opera People’s 2022 season. This programme presents alternative perspectives, allowing audiences to discover these multifaceted women from different viewpoints. The programme includes: Ariane by Philippe Courbois, La Lucrezia by Georg Friederich Handel and Circé by François Colin de Blamont. Femme X is performed by Teng Xiang Ting, Felicia Teo Kaixin and Cherie Tse, accompanied by Red Dot Baroque and featuring guest French harpsichordist Stéphane Fuget.
