The Rat Trap centres around a retired, elderly father, Mr Soh and his daughter, Shih-An, attempting to catch an intrusive rat appearing in the house. Mr Soh's alcohol addiction and his daughter's waning patience begin to get in the way.
Starring veteran actor Lim Kay Siu, Yap Yi Kai and Darren Guo playing a humanized rat, The Rat Trap revolves around a tender relationship between father and daughter, their shared love for music and the metaphor of their struggles in the literal rat trap of life.
This work is developed under Gateway Arts' Artist-In-Residence Programme 2020-2021 and proudly supported by Digital and Venue Partner, Gateway Theatre.
