Bloc Party Set To Rock Singapore

This March, local fans will be able to see for themselves what all the fuss is about as Bloc Party make their full band debut at Singapore's Fort Gate. Do not miss this opportunity to catch one of indie music's seminal acts of the modern era.

From the covers of NME and The Fader to Liam Gallagher's hit list, Bloc Party are one of indie rock's biggest acts of the last decade with front man Kele Okereke being titled 21st Century Boy; and the voice of his generation by The Guardian.

In 2005, their critically acclaimed debut album Silent Alarm was released. It was certified platinum in Britain and achieved gold certification within 24 hours of its European release. Rolling Stone considers the album to be one of the best debuts of 2005.

The band built on this success and exceeded expectations in 2007 with the release of their second studio album, A Weekend in the City. The album shot to number one on the Independent Albums chart and reached Number 12 on the Billboard 200.In August 2008, Bloc Party released their third studio record, Intimacy, which has received praise from critics such as Billboard, Entertainment Weekly, BBC, Mojo and The New York Times.

From sold-out gigs to large scale music festivals such as Glastonbury and the recent Lollapalooza, Bloc Party's live shows are even more inciting than their record and have been dubbed a force to be reckoned with by NME. The band has also released their fourth and most recent album, Four, on August 2012.
