Rahel Senn

"I was a problem child - worst case. Maybe I would have gone into drugs or a madhouse, but then I became an artist." (Rahel Senn)

The daughter of a Singaporean mother and a Swiss father became a pianist because her parents wanted her to become a doctor, and she started to compose because she felt misunderstood in any of the seven languages she had learned to talk.

Rahel studied classical piano at the Conservatory of Lucerne. She has been hailed as a child prodigy since her two award-winning musicals ("Totaler Wahnsinn!" and "Sanskaja") which she wrote and produced at the tender age of 17 and 19. Switzerland's youngest musical composer, author, director and producer became a frequent interviewed person in talkshows and newspapers.

It were amongst others the Russian concert pianist Konstantin Lifschitz and the Swiss author Charles Lewinsky who influenced the young artist as her long lasting mentors.

For 2011/12, she is appointed as music consultant and leads the interdisciplinary programme at Singapore's elite Raffles Institution. In August, her new musical SAVE A GRYPHON will be performed at the PAC.

Rahel Senn is a Young Steinway Artist and owns a professional modelling certificate, too. Concerttours with her solo-piano-programme "Retour à l'Art Brut" will lead her through Asia and Europe in 2012/2013.
