UNIQLO Singapore presents ‘As Essentials’, a special photo exhibition, organised in partnership with ART:DIS (Arts & Disability) Singapore, a non-profit organisation championing the learning and livelihood opportunities for persons with disabilities (PwDs) in and through the arts.
The exhibition features exceptional work of photographer Isabelle Lim, fondly known as Issy, a Deaf artist with Nager Syndrome, from ART:DIS. Since March 2024, she has documented the journey of the Singapore Paralympics team as they prepared for the Paris 2024 Paralympics. Through her lens, she captures powerful moments of the para athletes in action, training and documenting the trials they faced and milestones achieved as they pursue the pinnacle of their sporting careers.
This exhibition celebrates the power of creativity and connection that transcends limitations. Each photograph is a testament to Isabelle's belief that identity is expressed through artistic expression, not defined by disability.
Through this exhibition, UNIQLO aims to provide a platform to celebrate excellence within the disability sports and arts space, shining a spotlight on the para-athletes’ experiences while also championing diversity and inclusion with partners like ART:DIS and SNPC.
The ‘As Essentials’ photo exhibition will be held from 10 September to 13 October at UNIQLO Orchard Central Global Flagship Store.
