The Changi Chapel and Museum will be reopening its doors to the public on 19 May. The revamped commemorative site features new content and artefacts presented in an intimate and engaging format, highlighting the personal stories, courage and resilience of the prisoners of war and civilians who were interned in Changi prison camp during the Japanese Occupation.
Join us for the Opening Weekend on 22 and 23 May with specially curated guided tours of the gallery and the Changi Prison Wall and Eurasian Heritage Gallery, as well as storytelling sessions and a recorded orchestral performance based on the experiences of prisoners of war. Explore stories of the internees in this contemplative journey of remembrance and reflection, through an enhanced immersive experience with new multimedia offerings to uncover the prison conditions, depth of human responses and legacies left behind by three and a half years of the Japanese occupation in Singapore.
For more information, please follow us on the museum’s Facebook (changichapelmuseum) or Instagram (changichapelmuseum) pages.
Free admission for all visitors on 22 and 23 May.
Opening hours: Tuesday to Sunday & Public Holidays, 9.30 am to 5.30 pm (Last admission at 4.30 pm)
*No end date for this reopening of Changi Chapel and Museum.
