The Singapore Saxophone Symposium seeks to foster and encourage interest and passion for music and the saxophone, and is held annually at the Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts, Singapore.
This year’s symposium will feature concerts and masterclasses by international artists such as Alexis Seah (Singapore), Calvin Wong (Hong Kong/United States), Chien-Kwan Lin (Singapore/United States), Philippe Geiss (France), Jeffrey Loeffert (United States), Joseph Lallo (Australia), Michellina Chan (Singapore), Po-Yuan Ku (Taiwan), Rodrigo Vila (Spain), and Shyen Lee (Taiwan/Thailand).
Featured ensembles include the Composition VII Saxophone Quartet, Gusto Saxophone Quartet, h2 quartet, Keuris Quartet, MIT Saxophone Ensemble, NAFA Saxophone Ensemble/Octet/Quartet, Psaiko Quartet, Salaya Saxophone Ensemble, and Xin Saxophone Quartet.
For the fifth time in the history of the Singapore Saxophone Symposium, a Composition Workshop on writing idiomatically and skilfully for the saxophone will be conducted by Americ Goh, Zechariah Goh, Michael Sidney Timpson, Chichun Chi-sun Lee, with the support of the Keuris Quartet.
