- You are wondering what you want to do when you graduate – be in a band, compose music, or create a portfolio of musical commitments.

Whatever your musical dreams and ambition:

- Get tips on real-life music career skills such as Auditioning, Songwriting, becoming a Teacher and becoming a professional Performer.
- The Rockschool Education Seminar Series features the leaders of Contemporary Music Industry. -

Distinguished Speakers:

Professor Paul Marchbank
School of Media Arts and Technology, Southampton Solent University
Paul Marchbank is the director of the School of Media Arts and Technology and teaches on BA (Hons) Media Culture and Production. Paul joined Southampton Solent University in 1996 and has taught on the media culture and production courses ever since. He has worked in both further education and higher education across courses in English, communications, media and history. Now, Paul concentrates on areas of student work experience and employability skills. Having had works of short fiction and poetry published in his early career Paul now supervises final major projects in creative writing and film script form.

Professor Paul Rutter
Head of Music
School of Media Arts and Technology, Southampton Solent University
Paul is a musician, published music industry writer, internationally published composer-lyricist and music producer. He is the author of 'The Music Industry Handbook' published by Routledge, has over thirty years of experience in the music industries and has ongoing research interests in evolutionary global music industries. Paul is a frequent on-air contributor, commentator and research consultant in regional BBC media popular music feature programmes.

John Simpson
CEO, RSL (Rockschool ) Limited
John is currently chief executive officer of RSL (Rockschool Ltd), the international rock music exam board and awarding authority. He is a keen guitarist, singer and jazz trumpeter, and has played internationally in all kinds of ensembles.
