Learn about the technical aspects (lenses, shutter speed, depth of field, exposure etc) and how they can affect the mood and aesthetics of a short film. Participants can also work on a short exercise together to shoot "on set" using a Panasonic camera. Topics will cover: Selecting the right camera to suit your needs and lenses, Camera angles, placement; Framing and other technical considerations; Working on set, class exercise.
Pok Yue Weng is co-founder of the production house, Creative Room, and an experienced cameraman and cinematographer who has worked on projects in Singapore and Hong Kong. Yue Weng was among the first batch of students to graduate from Ngee Ann Polytechnic, Film, Sound and Video. To date, Yue Weng has a decade of experience in the media production industry. WIth a keen interest in cinematography, he embarked on an 8-year stint as a freelance camera assistant. Working under illustrious cinematographers like Willie Tang from the Picture Farm, Gary Wapshott, Jake Scott amongst others. Yue Weng has also been involved in many major Singapore and Hong Kong film productions in the camera and lighting department. His production credits include The Road Less Traveled, The Tree and many other film projects and television commercials. He directed superDONG, a short film which screened at the Directors’ Fortnight in Cannes in 2007.
