Fish, turtles, squid, and jellyfish made from ocean debris, including abandoned fishing nets and recycled plastics, Ghost Nets of the Ocean is a spectacular marine-themed exhibition created by indigenous and non-indigenous artists from Erub Arts on Darnley Island, Torres Strait, Australia. These colourful woven sculptures, hanging suspended and dramatically lit throughout the gallery, show the people's connections to the sea, and strive to generate awareness of ocean pollution, recycling, and conservation of the marine environment.

Ghost Nets of the Ocean is complemented by Tiny Turtles, artworks resulting from a collaboration between Torres Strait schools and local, international, and special needs students in Singapore. Supported by the Australian High Commission, the exhibitions are part of Asian Civilisations Museum’s Children’s Season 2017. Also on offer during the school holidays are a smorgasbord of craft workshops, storytelling and talks, drama and musical performances, and gallery trails.
