Sustainable Fashion is Sexy: learn how you can do your part as a designer, producer, or consumer of fashion to incorporate sustainability into your business or community. This is the 3rd session for the Fashion Sustainability 101 Series that we started last March 2016.

Designed around the theme “Sustainability is Sexy”, this session will explore the future of sustainable fashion in Asia; how sustainable fashion can be marketed in a fun and engaging way; and how your favorite businesses and brands can draw upon their sustainability efforts to shape powerful, media- and consumer-ready brand stories.

Sustainability Manager (Southeast Asia)

Xin Yi is the Sustainability Manager for H&M Southeast Asia; appointed to drive the company’s sustainability strategy for retail in Singapore, Malaysia, Philippines, and Vietnam. Having been with the company for 4 years, Xin Yi was previously in H&M Malaysia’s Marketing and Communications department and helped launch H&M’s garment collecting initiative back in 2013 as well as the brand’s numerous Conscious collections since then.

As one of the world’s leading fashion companies, H&M aims to use its size and scale to lead the change towards circular and renewable fashion while being a fair and equal company. Earlier this year, H&M announced its commitment to use 100% recycled or other sustainably sourced materials by 2030 and to become climate positive throughout its entire value chain by 2040. Staying true to its business concept to provide fashion and quality at the best price in a sustainable way.

Yasmine is an award-winning entrepreneur, world traveler, speaker and the sales storyteller. In 2011 she was named “Top 40 Under 40” by AIESEC, the world’s largest student organization, after directing the organization’s expansion to Egypt and the Middle East. She was recruited to lay the framework for a Fortune 500 company’s buy out of GE Plastics and organized multi-million dollar events. Alongside her job, she started a social enterprise Gone Cyclin’ to raise $50,000 to support women entrepreneurs in East Timor.

Since quitting the corporate world, Yasmine has coached dozens of people to accelerate their career and business through building trust-based marketing & sales funnels, developing airtight systems and a fearless mindset.
