It’s gonna be Cats, Y & Z as the mandarin-acoustic duo of Yokez and Zerlene are all set to serenade the crowd in the second installment of out Monthly Mewsic Series, dedicated to the best Singapore's Chinese-indie music scene has to offer!

About Zerlene
Zerlene is a versatile singer-guitarist and dancer. Influenced by her father's guitar skills and her sister's vocals since young, she enrolled in the Diploma in Music and Audio Technology course in Singapore Polytechnic. From there, she gained exposure to Writing, Recording and Live Engineering. She is also trained in Hip-Hop and K-pop Dance under Millet Music School and StudioDeS.

Zerlene's ability to perform in a variety of languages including English, Mandarin, Korean, Cantonese, Japanese and Thai, has made her a highly requested performer at weddings and corporate events.

Zerlene currently performs live on Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays. She is also active under John & Deniece Glee Studios as a freelance dancer and singer.

About Yokez
Yokez is an independent Singaporean singer-songwriter who has melted the hearts of many at cafes, bars, corporate events and weddings. She emerged 1st runner-up in SAFRA's The Ultimate Voice 2016 as well as Hear Me Sing, Singapore's largest online Chinese singing competition. Yokez has sung for events by People's Association (PA), National University of Singapore (NUS), Paragon, as well as at numerous establishments including Acid Bar, Unplugged at Dempsey, Shuffle Bistro Bar and Five Bar.

In 2015, Yokez received recognition for her original work, (“Stop Crying”). The song, which was her first completed composition and submission for a song-writing competition, emerged top 10 over more than 100 submitted entries in the 17th XQRJ Regional Chinese Songwriting Competition. Another of her original, (“An Urge to Love You”), also emerged top 10 in the 19th season of the competition.
