Ever wondered what librarians do? In this series of monthly talks, find out what makes our librarians tick as they share highlights of their work from the collections of the National Library.

“On the Internet, every day is April Fools' Day”, in recent months, there has been much buzz about “fake news” and “alternate truths” all around the world. Fake news can have real consequences, such as causing unnecessary alarm and panic.

One key responsibility of the National Library’s new Education and Outreach team is to foster greater awareness, understanding and adoption of information literacy skills to enable Singaporeans to be more discerning of fake news and hoaxes, without being didactic.

Join Damien Wang as he shares his experiences, joys and challenges of being a Digital Engagement Librarian in an increasingly VUCA* world.

*Volatile, uncertain, complex and ambiguous.

Free admission. Please register at the library eKiosks or http://www.nlb.gov.sg/golibrary2/e/a-librarians-world-thinker-trainer-confessions-of-a-digital-librarian-43888937.
