What is Tech Tarik?
Inspired by a popular Singaporean beverage that gets 'pulled' by its barista, TECH TARIK stretches our hearts and minds to include perspectives and innovations happening at the horizon. The event aims to inspire a more sustainable future while improving humanity and Nature - all happening under the stars with a unique village ambiance at the Kampung Kampus.
Tech Tarik infuses technology-themed discussions with the casual vibe of the outdoor kampung. Four speakers will share their insights on theme specified, followed by moderated panel discussion with questions by audience member. The panel discussion will adopt ‘Ask-Me-Anything’ (AMA) style. The event will conclude with networking session and further discussion between speakers and audience members.
Theme: Energy Exploration
Tech Tarik will carry the theme of 'Energy Exploration'. The theme is selected in line with the announcement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and COP21 at Paris in 2015. The focus on the upcoming TECH TARIK will be the upstream of energy exploration, such as discussion about sources of energy and innovation at policy and execution level.

People Behind Tech Tarik
Tech Tarik is powered by Ground-Up Initiative (GUI). The Ground-Up Initiative (GUI) [pronounced Gee-U-Aye] is a volunteer-driven non-profit community that seeks to restore the connection between urbanites and the land for the many universal values and life skills it teaches us. The organization aims to rekindle the down-to-earth Kampung Culture once familiar in this region. GUI’s 21st Century Kampung Culture of harvesting the best of values and what modern life has to offer is the foundation from which it creates solutions for a sustainable future.
