This Lunar New Year, the S.E.A. Aquarium is all dressed up for Spring and decorated for the festive season. It offers a plethora of activities for visitors to celebrate and welcome the Year of the Monkey.
Returning to the S.E.A. Aquarium this year is the Underwater Dragon Dance performed daily by our agile divers, as well as appearances by the Manta mascot all decked out in her Chinese New Year outfit!
Kids can set off on the SEAA Monkey Mission to track down the special underwater zodiac animals (such as the Seadragon, Monkey Fish and Tiger Fish) found in the S.E.A. Aquarium by searching for clues in the cheeky monkeys.
Visitors can also step through the Trail of Fortune, a themed zone located next to the Bao Chuan that features exhibits and interactive stations that allows guests to uncover fun facts about Chinese New Year customs and symbols. The trail includes four goldfish habitats that will delight and enthrall with their bright colours and graceful manoeuvres, while bringing good luck and fortune to visitors. There will also be a touch pool so visitors will come face-to-face with marine life such as sea cucumbers, sea stars and abalone, which carry symbols of wealth in the Chinese culture. Lastly, a kids zone at the end of the trail gives the children an area to create their very own Chinese New Year crafts, and an interactive photo booth gives guests a great opportunity to commemorate their experience. Renowned calligrapher Master Yong will also be present each weekend to paint auspicious couplets for your home which you can purchase.
