Ever wanted to play the drums but have no access to a drum set? Now you can be your own drum set! In this workshop, multi-talented beatboxer, singer-songwriter and live-looping artist Kai goes through a brief history of the technique, and shares stories about his beatboxing journey. He also teaches you the basic techniques and rhythm patterns for you to hold your own beat.
With his strong interest in education and pedagogy, Kai has taught workshops and masterclasses including a university module in beatboxing at the National Institute of Education which runs every semester. He was invited to judge the National A Cappella Championships Beatbox Battle on a panel of international adjudicators in 2014 and 2016. With his a cappella group Vocaluptuous, Kai has toured internationally, performed for numerous prestigious events including the National Day Parade 2013, 28th Southeast Asian Games 2015 Opening Ceremony and Mediacorp Star Awards 2016.
