The SSO's founding Music Director Choo Hoey returns to partner the young Taiwanese violinist Tseng Yu-Chien, top award winner in this year's Tchaikovsky International Violin Competition, in Bruch's Scottish Fantasy. The first five bars of Beethoven's exhilarating Fifth features one of the most famous classical melodies ever written. Opening the concert is the La création du monde ("The Creation of the World"), composed by Milhaud in the spirit of the New Orleans jazz bands he had heard in New York.
