The transformation of Singapore’s urban landscape is shaped by the country’s land use strategy, which has been evolving for the past five decades in tandem with the nation’s changing needs. Interestingly, despite the magnitude, the urban changes did not occur haphazardly but quite systematically, taking place under the guidance of the various concept plans – the country’s strategic land use and transportation plan. By showcasing these concept plans and publications related to land use in Singapore, this curated book display examines the background and studies the impact of the concept plans in shaping the country’s urban landscape.
