The Singapore Botanic Gardens has lined up a fun-filled programme from 7 to 9 August as part of NParks’ SG50 Concert Series in the Park. A carnival will be held throughout the three days, featuring nostalgic activities which celebrate shared memories as well as the rich cultural and botanical heritage of the Gardens.

On 7 August, visitors can enjoy a variety show reminiscent of the “Aneka Ragam Ra’ayat” or “People’s Variety Show” held in the Gardens in 1959. Visitors can also enjoy a classical themed concert on 8 August, and bandstand performances and outdoor movie screenings on 7 and 8 August.

Singapore Botanic Gardens Heritage tours will be held that weekend, and Singapore residents can also enjoy free entry to the National Orchid Garden from 7 to 10 August.

At Jubilee at the Botanics (乐响绿园庆金禧) – two free concerts in a single weekend, presented by Temasek featuring the Singapore Chinese Orchestra (SCO) and the Singapore Symphony Orchestra (SSO), young maestros Assistant Conductor Moses Gay of the SCO and Associate Conductor Joshua Tan from the SSO will lead musicians in bringing you the best of local favourites and popular classics from their repertoires. The performances will feature local classics like Count on Me Singapore, a medley of local television theme songs, international musical hits like Les Miserables’ I Dreamed a Dream as well as all-time favourite national song Home. Jazz singer Amni Musfirah will also be singing with the SSO. Local artistes Tay Kewei and Nathan Hartono will be joining us during the weekend of musical discovery. Kewei will bring us a special performance of her singing and playing the erhu. She will also be performing a song alongside SCO. Nathan will be interacting with audiences and co-hosting the SSO concert.
