In the month of August, we celebrate the innovation and craftsmanship of singer-songwriters in Singapore. With a fresh line-up of singer-songwriters, solo vocalists and independent groups of musicians, this month’s artists focus on original work, arrangements and the creative process behind making music. These performances offer a peek into the mind and hearts of these musicians as they present and reflect on their musical influences and their journeys as they developed their own unique sounds.

Amanda Tee is a singer-songwriter whose folky tunes have been compared to the likes of Joni Mitchell and Suzanne Vega. Nelson Tan is simply a multi-tasker—he has published his own Mandarin albums, and played with acts like In Each Hand A Cutlass, Kevin Mathews and even Malay rock band Tujuhband. With their powers combined, Amanda and Nelson are set to present a combination of folk and pop-rock, each songwriter influencing the other in this live performance of their new songs.
