“One of India’s most inventive and charismatic artists”—The Guardian

“Indian music with a western twist”—BBC

His music has an immediacy that is at once soulful, earthly, transcendental and immensely enjoyable. For Raghu Dixit, who cites Illayaraja, Freddie Mercury and Sting as his top influences, his fusion of Indian folk and western pop sounds has turned him into one of the biggest acts out of India; and his star continues to rise in the world music scene.

The former scientist-turned-singer (who is also trained in bharatanatyam) has charmed audiences all the way from India to the UK, performing at WOMAD, Glastonbury, England’s Queen’s Diamond Jubilee celebrations, and on popular Indian TV shows such as The Dewarists and Coke Studio. His music has earned him a residency at UK’s prestigious Southbank Centre and Best Newcomer at the 2011 Songlines Awards that recognise the best in world music.

Raghu formed his band in 2007, comprising Gaurav Vaz (bass), Bryden Lewis (guitars), Parth Chandiramani (flute) and Wilfred D’Moz (drums, percussion). Their first album, Raghu Dixit, was one the highest selling non-film music albums of 2008, #1 on the iTunes World Music charts in the UK and on Amazon UK’s Movers and Shakers list.

For one night only, join Raghu and his band as they bring you songs from their latest album, Jag Changa, and some of their much-loved hits.
