High Culture Meets Urban Art: In the ultimate clash of cultures, Red Bull Flying Bach fuses the elegant music of visionary 18th century composer Johann Sebastian Bach with a breathtaking breakdance performance.

Rarely does a performance of the elegant music by Bach inspire euphoria, cheers and whistles from the audience. Pair the music with the explosive break dancing and the audience rumbles with life. This novel combination is something you have to experience to believe.

Red Bull Flying Bach is an interpretation of Bach’s Well-Tempered Clavier realized with seven B-Boys and one ballerina dancer. With a story line centered on a dance class, the performance jumps between classical and urban culture complete with a love story of its own.

The performance visualizes and revives Bach’s masterpiece, note by note, step by step and accompanied with piano, harpsichord and electronic beats.

Internationally acclaimed opera conductor Christoph Hagel helms as the Artistic Director while Vartan Bassil, founder of The Flying Steps choreographs the crew’s dance moves. The Flying Steps B-Boys have a versatile dance style ranging from spectacular power moves to popping and locking. Accompanying them is Anna Holmström, a classical ballet performer trained in the prestigious Royal Swedish Ballet School.

Red Bull Flying Bach had won the prestigious ECHO Klassik Sonderpreis, Germany’s major classical music awards in 2010, proving that the show can make Bach’s Baroque music accessible to youths while providing an older audience insight into the breath-taking dance art form from the streets. Classical music lovers can be thrilled by something that also fascinates young Hip Hop fans is a rarity in the culture industry.

Following a sold-out tour and shows in Europe, Japan and Australia, Red Bull Flying Bach is set to land in Singapore for the first time in January 2014.
