Post Traumatic Shopping & Not Even The Night Has Such Gentle Hands (a Double Bill)
By Theatrethreesixty

“After a moment that changed her life forever, a woman discovers that she has made an unusual choice in dealing with the aftermath. Revealed through the fragments of her recollection of the event, the choice forces her to re-examine what she thought she knew about who she was and the lengths people would go to, to remain calm and carry on.”

“In a rare moment of your life, you experience something beautiful. Something that no one else can understand. Something that everyone else will see wrongly, in the different light of day. It was so simple, and yet so unexplainable. And it lay buried away under the enveloping tissues of a mundane life – until you caught the shimmering outlines of your pregnant wife in the shower. The sound of the droplets echo. They echo another rainy night… And the memory will not go away.”

A double bill of original works from theatrethreesixty by the award winning duo: Desmond Sim (Singaporean) and Nandang Abdul Rahman (Malaysian). In conjunction with the 2014 CausewayEXchange Festival, theatrethreesixty’s Artistic Director Christopher Ling directs the Malaysian premiere of two monologues by playwright Desmond Sim and Nandang Abdul Rahman in an exploration of coping, keeping calm and carrying on.
