Operation Theatre 5: Atlas Unbound is a biennale musical production put up by the NUS Medical Society to raise awareness and funds for community initiatives. The musical will be held on the 19th and 20th of September at Kallang Theatre. Funds raised from the musical will be donated to HCA Hospice Care and Star PALS. HCA Hospice Care (HCA) is Singapore's largest home hospice provider and has been a registered charity since 1989. Star PALS, a service under HCA, is dedicated to improving the quality of life for children aged 19 and below with life-limiting conditions. These range from neurological or congenital conditions to childhood cancers.

This will be a full-length musical theatre production in the classical musical tradition, with a full ensemble and orchestra. The musical will be staged at the Kallang Theatre, which has an excess of 1600 seats, on the 19th and 20th of September, with the 19th being the Gala event. It will be a wholly original production – from the script, composition and stage material – produced and performed entirely by the students of the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine.

Synopsis of the musical:
Set in the land of the rising sun, OT5 is the tale of a man seeking to honor his family by finishing the quest his dying father bestows upon him - a journey that will take him to the mysterious wall at the edge of the world - and beyond. This is a story of courage, friendship, betrayal, romance, prophecy, and the slightest hint of space opera. Join us as our hero discovers more about the origin of his world, the Great War that came before, and the truth about the mystical spirits that inhabit his world. Be prepared for unexpected revelations, love in a foreign land, and a stunning conclusion.
