The drawing of a 3-metre-wide rice mandala emerges in tandem with the cycle of human life depicted on stage, alluding to the perennial aspiration of a life well-lived and rich with meaning.
Mandala, a powerful symbol is found in cultures across the world, from the swirling Dervish dances of Sufi monks to Hindu Rangoli floor paintings, and European stained glassworks. In Tibetan culture, the mandala aids concentration and is a tool for purification and healing. The late psychoanalyst Carl G Jung believed that the mandala, as an art form, is part of the individuation process.
We invite you to experience your own individuation journey by joining us in Mandala, a physical theatre performance that courses through a reflection of urban life.
