Yang Gallery presents ‘Memory Exhibition’, a Chinese contemporary fine art group exhibition showcasing the works of Zhao Limin, Lv Yanjun and Shen Jingdong, whose works are collected by contemporary art museums, private art foundations, luxury organisations, investment banks and private collectors.

Transforming children into various Chinese historical characters, legendary heroes and heroines from famous Chinese novels such as 'Romance of the Three Kingdoms’ and ‘Secret of the Red Chambers, Zhao Limin’s usage of realism in his “Baby series”, usually associated with social cause and egalitarianism, have captured the amusement of institutional life in the most charming manner.

The characters of Lv Yanjun’s paintings embody a sculpture-like, aesthetic feeling of solemnity and peacefulness. The essence comes into full view through his works; that art is not just a blinded replica of reality, but a powerful and hearty expression of the spirit in real life.

Shen Jingdong’s famous “hero” series created images of soldiers that are difficult to differentiate. His facial features are vague, but he in fact is a man in the common sense. Their identity can be seen through their clothing, attitude and their individuality replaced by a common ideology.
