Jazz in July takes you on an exploration of jazz that reaches deep into its roots to discover new horizons. Throughout the month of July, enjoy intimate jazz music at the Café 21 Living Room (Concourse) and lively, upbeat jazz tunes at the Music Station (Outdoor Theatre). Be dazzled by the soulful improvisations, swinging rhythms and the infectious grooves of Singapore jazz artists.

Private Conversations by White Noise is about the inner recesses of one’s soul, with the ones whom we long to speak to, reflected in song.

A collaborative project by Singapore singer-songwriter Juliet Pang and Australian pianist Didi Mudigdo, White Noise presents new compositions and new arrangements of old jazz standards that communicate nuances of the light and the heavy in our lives.

Juliet Pang
Juliet Pang started her professional music career in 1998, the year she was one of three artists signed to Ocean Butterflies International, alongside JJ Lin and A-Do. Juliet is known as one of Singapore’s prominent songwriters, and her debut original album The Perfect Journey received nominations in the Best New Artist and Best Local Artist award categories by Mandopop blog Freshmusic.

She was featured on the S2S Records jazz compilation albums Absolute Voices in 2009 and Oriental Jazz in 2013, and has a graduate certificate from the Australian Institute of Music, where she studied jazz piano under David McRae.

Juliet’s latest accomplishment in jazz was the release of her EP White Noise Live, a live recording with her jazz quartet White Noise, in 2012.

Didi Mudigdo
A consummate jazz pianist and arranger, Didi Mudigdo has performed in festivals and jazz clubs regionally and locally. In 2005, he was a finalist in the jazz category of the Australian National Songwriting Contest. He has also worked with several Sydney recording artists, and released his own recordings, the most recent being Didi Three Live in 2008, which was recorded live at the Sapporo Jazz Festival in Japan.,
