Have you ever wanted to write your own opinion column? Here’s a great way to start! Join Dina Zaman, a columnist with The Malay Mail Online as she shares some basic tips on getting started.

About Dina Zaman

Dina Zaman is an award-winning writer of non-fiction, fiction and poetry. On top of her international media presence as a columnist and commentator of current affairs, Dina has appeared on the BBC and been interviewed on Everywoman, a women’s programme on Al-Jazeera. Her columns include: Off Our Backs (The Sun, Malaysia in 1995), Dina’s Dalca (New Straits Times, 1996 to 1998) and I Am Muslim (, 2005 to 2006), which is now a book published by Silverfish Books. Her latest book, King of The Sea, was longlisted for the Frank O’Connor Short Story Award and was awarded Popular Books' Readers' Choice. Former British High Commissioner Chevening Scholar (1998-1999) and 2012 Senior API Fellow, Dina is now considering a post graduate research career to expand her book, I Am Muslim. She is currently a columnist with The Malay Mail Online, and is greatly interested in topics dealing with religion, culture and public policy.
