Edward Burtynsky will be presenting new colour photographs in his first solo exhibition in Singapore titled Water at Sundaram Tagore Gallery. Known for his large format industrial landscapes, the Water series is Burtynsky’s largest and most ambitious project to date. This series, which began in 2007, illustrates the scale and impact of manufacturing and human consumption on the world’s water supplies. Through this monumental piece of work, Burtynsky depicts the dramatic desertification in Iceland, Kumbh Mela in India, science fiction-like irrigation sites in Texas and dryland farming in Spain in stunning colours and intricate details to show how human interference is depleting water resources
