It’s A Wonderful Life is a timeless piece of cinema history that was nominated for 5 Academy Awards and considered one of the greatest movies ever made by the American Film Institute – a perennial Christmas film which has become staple viewing for the holiday season.

Heavily in debt and having lived a life of countless sacrifices, unfulfilled desires and tragic circumstance, George Bailey, the head of a bank in Bedford Falls, finds himself at the end of the road, contemplating suicide on Christmas Eve. However, prayers from his friends and family reach heaven, and angel 2nd class, Clarence Odbody, is sent to Earth to save George. Clarence intervenes in George’s suicide and reveals himself as his Guardian angel. When George declares that he wishes that he was never born, Clarence takes this statement literally, sending George into an alternate reality in Bedford Falls, where he bears witness to how the lives of family and friends would have been different if he had never existed. In this journey of self-discovery, George realises how his altruism and good nature held the community together and changed the lives of others for the better.
