The magical sounds of the Indian tabla are rich and vast like its country of origin, India. With these two drums, a tabla maestro can produce an impressive range of sounds that few percussive instruments can. It is no wonder that the tabla is one of the most popular percussions used in Indian dance.

Join multi-talented artist Nawaz Mirajkar on a a rhythmic journey as he shares more about the colourful history of the tabla, its sounds, techniques and other interesting anecdotes. There will also be demonstrations and an opportunity for participants to play the instrument. Nawaz has performed, composed and conducted at various local and international festivals, including the Singapore Arts Festival and Kalaa Utsavam – Indian Festival of Arts.
