Sota quartet
5.15 – 5.45pm, 6.15 – 6.45pm & 7.15 – 7.45pm
Composed of students and faculty members, the Sota Quartet is an ensemble founded with the sole purpose of performing works by composition students from the School of the Arts.
Thong Wei Ling and Elicia Neo, currently fourth year violin majors, alternate between first and second violin. Linda Kollati and Susanne Wurmnest, from the music faculty, teach subjects ranging from music history, aural awareness and general musicianship to chamber music.
The first and second set features Regine Law, a current fifth year student in the IB Diploma programme. She performs an introduction to her work Adagio for String Quartet. The final set of the evening features Samuel Chua, a fifth year student in the IBCC programme. The keen saxophonist with an interest in contemporary music performs an introduction to his work Passacaglia for String Quartet.
