What place does abstract art and Chinese ink painting have in the history of Singapore’s visual art and her historical development, and what is the relationship between Western abstraction and Chinese ink painting? What are the sources of inspiration for the works of second-generation artists in Singapore? Join Szan Tan, co-curator of the exhibition A Changed World: Singapore Art 1950s–1970s in a special tour as she journeys through their works and analyses their individual responses to the changed world around them in the late 1960s to 1970s. Szan has worked as a curator since 1997 and has an interest in paintings, textiles and folk cultures.
