About Yogathon

Yogathon, an Art of Living's initiative, on the World Healh Day, 7th April, 2013 with the inspiration of H.H. Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, is to create awareness about yoga and create interest in its practice for healthier living.

In 2012, this unique event, 'Yogathon Challenge' inspired over 1.3 million people to learn Surya Namaskara, participate to check how many rounds they can complete. Though the emphasis was to complete 54 sets i.e. 108 rounds of Surya Namaskara, anybody could join with their own goals for completing the rounds respecting their physical limits. Over 75,000 'winners' who complete 108 rounds of Surya Namaskara got the "Gold Certificate" from the Art of Livng while all the other participants were given a "Spirit of Yoga Certificate" which also attested the number of rounds successfully completed by the participant.

In 2013, the Yogathon challenge will be held on World Health Day in numerous countries off which Singapore seeks to be one.

This unique event, 'Yogathon Challenge' will inspire people to learn Surya Namaskar, participate to check how many rounds they can complete. The Yogathon Challenge allows you to participate to the best of your ability and upon completion of 54 sets (108 rounds) of Surya Namaskar participants will be awarded a Gold Certificate;
"Teen Challenge 27" is a new Category Introduced for Teens
Certificates of Participation (Spirit of Yoga”)will be awarded to all who participate regardless of whether they achieve the Gold Certificate or not.
Participants are required to ensure they are medically fit for the challenge.

Why Surya Namaskar?
