White Noise presents itself as a trio this round, with Didi Mudigdo (piano), Juliet Pang (vocals) and Felix Phang (double bass) at Esplanade Concourse, a public event.

In their travels, music has often hopped aboard, welcoming a musical exploration that is tinted by the towns and cities they have been to, and the people they have met. Occasionally, new music is borne from these explorations, through the stories and relationships they have with the places they visited.

‘Wrong Town’ is an adventure of jazz music from 30s-60s that have resonated with lead vocalist, Juliet Pang. It is also an original composition (Mark Gordon/Didi Mudigdo) that bittersweetly paints a picture of displacement; for ever so often, a sad romance can make a town seem so wrong.

Together with a careful selection of jazz standards with the band’s original arrangements, it will be shared for the first time in Singapore, alongside with other originals from their latest album, White Noise LIVE.

White Noise Band Profile:

In May 2012, jazz quartet White Noise, the brainchild of singer-songwriter and jazz vocalist Juliet Pang and Sydney pianist and arranger Didi Mudigdo premiered at the Singapore Arts Festival in May 2012. During the festival and on their latest live album, White Noise featured Singapore's 'dream team' rhythm section: drummer Tan Boon Gee and bassist Eddie Jansen.

This July, having also found chemistry with multi-instrumentalist jazz musician and composer Felix Phang, White Noise shares their new arrangements and compositions inspired by the era as a Trio.
