Adapted by screenwriter Chor Yuen from two Hollywood classics of the same title, this Cantonese version of The Seventh Heaven retains much of the realist-melodramatic sheen of the glossy Hollywood productions that came before.
A chance meeting between Chi-ko (Patrick Tse) and orphan on-the-run, Siu-hung (Nam Hung), culminates in a deep affection between the two characters. However, their love is abruptly cut short as the war breaks out and Chi-ko is sent to hard labour by the Japanese army.
