The Auditory Effect throws a hard-hitting Pop Rock punch wrapped in layers of New Wave and Electronica. Sturdy, syncopated drums, groovy bass and punchy guitars intertwine with sexy synth arpeggios and three part harmonies led by the fluid, silky falsetto of vocalist Helmey.

Founded by bassist Adam Max Surin, and his best friend Jon on guitar, the band is completed by girl drummer Audrey, Helmey (vocals, synths) and guitarist & backing vocalist Joey. The quintet has played at several notable events, from independent gigs to opening for pop sensation Foster The People, and has caught the ear of many, including Grammy winning producer Steve Lillywhite and top music blogger Alan Cross, who listed them as one of his top 10 discoveries at Singapore’s biggest music conference Music Matters 2012.

The Band:

Adam Max Surin – Bass
Jon – Guitar
Audrey – Drums
Helemy – Vocals and synthesizers
Joey – Guitar and backing vocals

Singapore Originals is a series put up by Timbre Music to recognize independent original music works by Singaporeans, for Singaporeans. Singapore Originals happens every last Wednesday of the month at Timbre @ The Substation (unless otherwise stated).
