Join carnatic vocalists Sushma and Chitra Poornima as they pay tribute to all mothers, wives, daughters and sisters in Samarupa. Journey with them as they delve into the different facets of being a woman through music.

Experience the devotion and sacrifice of saint-poet Andal; the purity of love Meera had for Lord Krishna; the strength and wisdom of Sita; the childlike innocence of Kannamma; and the primordial cosmic energy of Shakti, and embrace these qualities that are embodied by women.

Disciples of Lalita Sivakumar and Bombay Jayashri respectively, Sushma and Chitra Poornima are amongst Singapore’s most talented Indian classical music performers. They have each been gaining attention their distinctive singing styles, emotive nuances and vocal range. In their first feature concert together, expect sterling solos and riveting duets as they celebrate portraits of femininity.

Joining the duo, is an highly accomplished all-women ensemble with Charumathi Raghuraman on the violin, Rajna Swaminathan on the mridangam and Sukanya Ramgopal on the ghatam.
