The Singapore Olympic Foundation is presenting the Singapore Olympic Foundation-Peter Lim Charity Cup which will see a Singapore Selection playing an international match against Atletico Madrid. All net ticket proceeds will go towards the Singapore Olympic Foundation-Peter Lim Scholarship which helps promising young athletes to chase their sporting aspirations.

About Singapore Selection

The Singapore Selection will comprise top footballers from the S-League, Lions XII and Young Lions, selected by the Football Association of Singapore.

About Atletico Madrid

Atletico Madrid is one of the top football clubs in Spain, currently placed third on the Spanish La Liga, after Barcelona and Real Madrid. Its star players include Radamel Falcao, Arda Turan and Thibaut Courtois. Hugely popular football stars such as Fernando Torres (Chelsea FC) and David De Gea (Man United FC) started their successful football careers at the club. Sergio Aguero (Man City FC) is another famous Atletico Madrid legend.

In support of the Singapore Olympic Foundation-Peter Lim Scholarship, Atletico Madrid has confirmed that it will be bringing all their first-team players to Singapore. The team consists of many international players who are currently national team players for their respective countries which are renowned for producing world class footballers, e.g. Spain, Brazil, Portugal, Argentina, Uruguay, Belgium, Columbia and Turkey. With the 2014 FIFA World Cup just round the corner, football fans would be thrilled to catch some of these footballers up close and personal!
