Music & Movement celebrates the colourful influence of dance in piano music, brought to you by four talented and prominent young pianists. From Baroque court and traditional folk dances, to the swirling ballrooms of Vienna, and to the more abstract, ecstatic dance of the cosmic variety, this year’s Piano Festival promises four uplifting evenings of passionate music-making.

Born in the Republic of Macedonia in 1979, Simon Trpceski has won prizes in international piano competitions in the UK, Czech Republic and Italy, and was awarded the ‘Young Artist Award’ by the Royal Philharmonic Society in 2003, and the Presidential Merit of Honour of the Republic of Macedonia in 2009. A frequent soloist with renowned orchestras and a superb recitalist, Trpceski’s solo performances at cultural capitals such as New York, London and Paris have been warmly received. Trpceski will showcase his pianistic agility in Schubert’s exuberant 16 German Dances and the Wanderer Fantasy, and one of Liszt’s most widely-known rhapsodies amongst his set of 19 -- Hungarian Rhapsody No. 2 in C-sharp minor.
