Where: Club kyō, 133 Cecil Street, Keck Seng Tower #B1-02, Raffles Place, Singapore

Restrictions: R18

Dresscode: Harajuku

From the streets of Harajuku Japan to the basement of kyō Singapore, the underground party den’s double-ender Halloween debut takes on the daring fashionable to freak and fearsome heights. Come in your freakiest Japanesque get-up on Saturday or Thursday (or both!) and win fabulous prizes!

The mechanics of Harajuku fashion may be dissected into the following: The Gothic, The Kawaii, The Victorian, The Punk or The Cosplayer. Here is one night where more is really more! Frill up, stud up, colour up and get crafty – mismatched is definitely the way to go, with extra points given if it scares the hell out of us. Draw inspiration from Gwen Stefani or your favourite Manga character. Each night will be a punked out, psychedelic affair straight out of your TV with B x Midnight Shift (Saturday, 26 October) and its esoteric techno during the prelude and Hold It, Ladies’ (Thursday, 31 October) scene-setting 90s R&B for the original All Hallows Day.

Joining the riot will be special Butoh and experimental performer, Syv Bruzeau from France. After a Masters degree in Russian-English and Marketing, Syv came to Asia where she extensively traveled, following her curiosity to experience different cultures. She opened a few restaurants in the region and this passion for providing joy and bonding between people led her to movement therapy.

She discovered Butoh while in Japan, and studied it in the Himalayas with Lee Rhizome, in New York City and Japan mainly with Katsura Kan, Eiko and Koma, Natsu Nakajima, Tetsuro Fukuhara. She practiced other movement-based and awareness techniques and is now sharing her experience through her own method ‘Oneness Flow’. For Syv, Butoh is a creative, self-discovering and healing, process. Butoh is a space of freedom. A space of infinite possibilities. And a lifestyle.

Where the freaks come out to play. No holds barred this Halloween. Come make it memorable.
