Discover the joy of movement and fall in love with dance through the festival's Footwork workshops. Conducted by professional instructors, these basic workshops are designed for youth, adults and senior citizens with little or no experience in dance.

Before there was Hip Hop dance, Popping & Locking ruled the world of street dance. Locking was created by Don Campbell (United States) in the late 1960s and later inspired Popping that came about in the 1970s. The creator, Sam Soloman (aka Boogaloo Sam) and his group The Electric Boogaloos from California were the ones that popularized Popping. Now, often referred as the "Old School Funk", Popping & Locking have greatly influenced the evolution of Hip Hop and are still widely performed all around the world. In this class, students will learn the basic techniques of Popping & Locking, and to dance to the music of great artists such as James Brown and the like.
