“A game in which the rules of everyday social interaction are temporarily suspended, Truth or Dare has been an excuse for many adolescent girls to share secrets with friends, assert sexual agency and create spaces within which truths are articulated under codes of honour and in which people are pushed beyond their regular boundaries. When was the last time you did something you were not supposed to? Found yourself in a situation in which rules no longer applied? Treaded the thin line between what you revealed and what you concealed? Threw consequence to the wind?”

Etiquette III – Truth or Dare is the third installment of EtiquetteSG’s bi-annual multidisciplinary showcase, which takes places over various venues. The Visual Arts component opens 21 November at The Substation Gallery, and features a multidisciplinary line-up of established, emerging and mid-career artists such as Lynn Lu, Hazel Lim, Vanessa Victoria and Kate Pocklington.

The Film component will be held at The Substation Theatre on 28 and 29 November. For more information on the film screenings please click here.

EtiquetteSG, an ongoing platform initiated in 2010 by Tania De Rozario and Zarina Muhammad, is a multidisciplinary showcase of art, writing, film and music created by women. Addressing gender as a subject of discourse, it uses art as a tool to create spaces within which critical and creative conversations can take place.
