1915 saw the birth of the Harp Trio, a unique chamber music genre created by Claude Debussy in his twilight years as he explored the purity of Neo-classicism.
Although he only composed one work for this symbolic trinity of distinct instruments, Debussy had formed a new sound "prism", inspiring numerous composers to shine forth their musical thoughts, creating myriads of sound colours through it.
Conceived by three of Singapore’s most active and award-winning musicians, this "Claude's Prism" concert will pay tribute to Debussy in his Sonata for Harp, Flute and Viola. An elegiac Bax coupled with a poetic Takemitsu, followed by a petite joyous Jolivet will complete the musical spectrum.
