Chocolat is alluring with its pretty scenes and chocolate-box charm. The most tempting of sweets becomes the weapon in a battle of sensual pleasure versus disciplined self-denial. Chocolate is employed as a metaphor for change in this film set in the tucked-away French village of Lansquenet, where the community's activities are dominated by the Catholic Church. A mysterious woman, Vianne, opens up a confectionery shop across the street from the Church, tempting the townsfolk with her unusual and delicious chocolate creations. Nominated for 5 Oscars, this film is not to be missed, tantalizing with its cast, screenplay, and sinfully delicious treats.

Directed by Lasse Hallström; Starring: Alfred Molina, Carrie-Anne Moss and Juliette Binoche.

Enjoy complimentary screening by making a $15++ food/beverage purchase at the Theatre bar OR the Film & Food menu at the restaurant.
