Witness the birth of an eclectic music phenomenon as an assortment of bigwig acts flock to the little red dot for a sensational auditory celebration. With a killer line-up of international and local acts, the Big Wig Music Festival is set to take revellers to a stunning kaleidoscopic soundscape. Premièring soon at the Fort Canning Park, the inaugural Big Wig Music Festival is a celebration of musical diversity that’s set to put Singapore on the international music map.
Chill to the beat of some of the biggest names in the industry, together with a spectacular mix of solo artists and bands.
Featuring headliner Pharoahe Monch, an internationally acclaimed rap artist who since his “Who Stole my Last Piece of Chicken” days have released a string of notable albums brimming with concept and expression. Monch’s unique combination of rapid fire staccato, delivered with melodic ease and internal rhyme schemes has pushed him to the forefront of his contemporaries, solidifying him as an emcee of highest order. Today, under the flag of his newly created company W.A.R. Media in partnership with Duck Down Music. He’s set to wage war and connect to hip hop on a primal level.
Other international acts include The Bizarre Ride live with Pharcyde, Four Dub featuring Akil the MC of Jurassic 5 and Hydro Phonics, Chrom3, Deejay Theory, Captain Planet, and The Cuban Brothers.
Local acts which you all know and love are Wicked Aura, Kevin Lester with DJ Koflow, and the Pushin'On Crew. Recognized purveyors of the good groove, the Pushin’On crew have developed a fierce reputation over the last 7 years for always bringing the party to the dance floor. With a constantly evolving sound and tours of Europe and Asia under their belts, the boys have been forging a name for themselves on the international scene through performances with the likes of Jazzy Jay, Marc Hype, Sarah Love and World DJ Champion DJ Vajra.
